Ponyo Ponyo

Gary was asking me if i got irritated by the OST of Ponyo On The Cliff By The Sea movie. Well for your information, its trailer has been hitting the tv screens and even in tv mobile recently.

Apparently Gary was irritated by this song especially when he encountered a bunch of ah bengs on bus who kept singing the theme song loud on bus yesterday. Haha

I think it is a cute song coupled with the cute movie trailer. But i guess if you deliberately repeat the chorus, it does sound irritating and like a chant.

See and hear for yourself!

Many Styles | One Choice

One thing pointed out by my Math CT was that there may be many styles of teaching and classroom management that i would have come across during my observation, but that does not mean i need or i should adopt all of them. She thought that the important factor is to understand myself and see which style speaks to me, which style i'm comfortable with. I just simply cannot fuse everything together. She suggested i adopt one i prefer and refine it as i clock up more experience.

Euro 2008

to be honest, i wasn't really chasing after e Euro 2008 matches. in fact, i din even know when was e opening nite. and yup, i missed e opening nite also as i was in a camp. anw i think main thing for my lesser concern for Euro 08 was that England din make it to e final rounds of Euro 08. SADZ. but hopefully they take this as a lesson to realli buck up on their performance.

nonetheless, being a soccer fan, i still paid 10 bucks for the Euro 08 channels on starbub cable tv (aren't u suppose to include Euro 08 matches when i paid bucks n bucks for e sports channels?! better stop pushing e limits of e viewers!). since e venue is in europe, e match timings are not exactly asia friendly. well 1st match starts at 12am, which is still alright. but e 2nd match starts at 2.30am, which means it will end at 4.30am. now that's a real challenge especially for those who are working.

for ppl like me who are in e holidays, it onli means that our biological body clock wld be realli messed up. after days of continuous viewing, day time seems night to me n vise versa. now after viewing e 2nd match, i still feel wide awake n linger on still i hit e pillows at 5plus-6plus. partly also bcoz i am glued to e hk drama serials that i'm watching after that :P

anw, i have decided to root my support for spain, followed by holland, for this Euro 08. So far for e matches that they had played, they looked good to go past e grp stages. lets see how far will they go.

viewers, any particular team that u are rooting for?

HK Drama

due to e amt of time on hand, i have been watching HK dramas recently. best thing is i'm watching them in cantonese. its wat u called "original" "原汁原味.

as some of u might have known that i'm a cantonese and in fact i always treat it as my 1st preferred spoken language(though some might argue its a dialect, not lauguage). to be able to watch the drama serials in cantonese speaks much more to me. i personally think that sometimes e original idea, jokes and lingo of the script got lost during the chinese translation.

a quick look at the HK drama serials that have been churned out, i realize that HK TVB and even ATV have shot a lot of dramas continuously for the viewers. this is sth i always like. i do enjoy local spore drama serials also. the thing is i simply do not understand why they don produce dramas consistently. After a while, the 7pm or 9pm drama slots will be showing HK or China dramas. judging by e no. of artistes Mediacorp has, i definitely don see lack of manpower as an issue. furthermore, they have so many talent shows in a yr. surely they can give some chances for some newbies to display their talents and clock experience. if u are not going to use them, y "select" them? if u are not going to let them clock experience, they will never be experienced!

gone are e days where local spore dramas were lining up one after another like those times in between 1980s to 1990s. realli miss those days. nowadays, they prefer to consolidate a huge pool of artistes and do a mega 100-episode kind of thing. in e end, its e same few bunch of big names 阿哥阿姐 artistes for e main roles to "support" e drama.

well com'on tv drama-makers, don ask wat e viewers and sponsors can give u to do a drama, ask urself wat have u given to e viewers and sponsors in dramas !!!

faithful local drama supporters are still out there waiting, e only way to keep them n expand this pool is to keep doing more n more dramas for them. nevermind if the show is being anchored by any 阿哥阿姐 big name artistes, e viewers will decide who e 阿哥阿姐 are. who would have thought zoe tay, li nanxing, fann wong, tay ping hui etc wld have turned out to be crowd-pullers 10yrs ago?
